    Kids' World of Energy Festival
    Interactive Energy Education (Grade 5)

May 13th - May 14th, 2009 9 am -  3 pm
Exhibition Place, Bandshell Park

FREE! The Kids' World of Energy will provide an opportunity to discover the relationship of energy to our lives and life on the planet.  Students will explore the science and manifestations of energy in an urban environment.  Over 50 curriculum linked interactive activities, exhibits and presentations will be designed to promote a better understanding of the impacts of energy generation in the environment and the role of different renewable energy technologies and energy conservation.  The event is intended to offer a fun learning experience with an important message about the need to conserve, understand and respect energy in our home and community.  

The four major theme areas are Energy Conservation and You, Renewable Energy, Energy Cycles and Climate Change and the Nuts and Bolts of Energy.  Registration opens October 1st, 2009

    Eco Pod Experiential Energy Education
    September 2008 - April 2009

FREE!  Experiential renewable energy education at the Exhibition Place!  Take a tour of Canada's largest PV solar array or tour North America's first urban wind turbine.  Classes have the option to stay for just the tour or  participate in curriculum linked activities, such as climate change debates, building anemometers and touring the sustainable condo.
