Mandate

The Partnership Development Department of the TCDSB was established by the Trustees of the TCDSB to pursue non-traditional sources of funding to support Board-wide initiatives and projects that meet the identified needs of individual school communities.

The TCDSB realizes the corporate community can play a very distinct role in the development of children; and is interested in building school-business relationships based on sound principles and values that can contribute significantly to the quality of its students’ education.  The focus of the Board falls on relationship-building and social responsibility.

Not only do ethical corporate partnerships contribute significantly to important school programs, activities and educational material, but by adding educational values to marketing material, the corporate community can also provide students from the TCDSB with an additional source of education.

Strategy

To actively seek and build relationships, strengthen existing partnerships and form strategic alliances with customers and develop business opportunities, partnerships and acquisitions to support the strategic initiatives of the TCDSB.

The strategic initiatives of the TCDSB are:

  • Continued programming initiatives for students
  • Increased opportunities for professional development through new professional learning centres
  • Literacy

Objectives

  • To actively seek ethical corporate partnerships in the public and private sectors that will be economically advantageous to the TCDSB
  • To work with the community of the TCDSB in the development, execution and implementation of a successful partnership development program i.e. team building, program content, continuous improvement, etc.
