History of the Toronto Catholic
District School
Invitation
for Contributions of Materials
Did you work for the Toronto Catholic District
School Board or the Metropolitan Separate School Board?
Did you attend a Catholic school in the City of
Toronto?
You are invited to consider helping to make history.
The Toronto Catholic District School Board has approved
the writing of a complete history of Catholic education in the City of
Toronto. This history will give recognition to all those who have
contributed to the development of the strong publicly funded Catholic school
system that exists today.
The author of the history will be Dr. Robert T. Dixon,
who is a recognized author and legal consultant on Catholic schools in the
province of Ontario. An advisory group will work with Dr. Dixon, with the
goal of completing the history sometime during the 2005 calendar year.
To provide authentic information, the author and the
advisory group are inviting individuals who may possess records, photographs
and other relevant materials (particularly from the early days of Toronto’s
Catholic schools) to submit such items for consideration and information.
Items should have as much information as possible on
the people, schools or events depicted. Items will be returned provided the
sender includes a return address with the submission.
Submissions should be sent to:
