As a Catholic community, we pray and we always remember… As we approach the end of Remembrance Week, and we move forward to mark Remembrance Day this Sunday, I encourage all of us to take some time to reflect on the significance of this annual event. Let us always remember the men and women, who so long ago, fought for our freedom. Remembrance Day remains as relevant to us today as it was many years ago. Today, many of us know someone who has recently been involved in peacekeeping, or who has lost someone due to conflict somewhere in the world. Let us pause a moment to reflect on their selfless contribution to our country and our way of life. As members of the TCDSB community we can take great pride in knowing that the spirit of Remembrance Day is alive and well in our schools, and that our students continue to learn from the experiences of our few remaining veterans. I encourage you to visit the homepage of our website at www.tcdsb.org for some of the many highlights across our system. For Catholics the world over, November is a solemn month which begins with a day dedicated to remembering those who have gone before us. Remembrance Day is yet another opportunity for us to gather in prayer and solidarity with renewed hope for a more peaceful future and a world that is free from war and conflict. We pay tribute to all who bravely continue to serve…
God Bless,
Kevin
