Greetings from the Director of Education, Bruce Rodrigues

Dear Parents, Trustees and Staff:

It is an honour and a privilege to have been selected to serve as the new Director of Education for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. In particular, it is wonderful to be returning to the TCDSB as I have many good memories of my years as a student in our system. It was while attending Toronto Catholic schools that my faith was nurtured and strengthened and where I first developed a passion for teaching. The three-year Pastoral Plan that you have undertaken speaks to the faith environment that I have valued and shared as a student and educator. I congratulate you and thank you for your devotion to this journey that you have undertaken.

I acknowledge the tremendous work that outgoing Director Ann Perron, the senior team and the Board of Trustees have already accomplished during the transition from supervision. They have laid a solid foundation for us to build upon. I am committed to working with you to sustain and cultivate the momentum that has been set in place.

This is an exciting and challenging time for Catholic education. Challenges provide us with opportunities to grow and strengthen our commitment to our faith and our students. The TCDSB has a strong track record of accomplished alumni, staff and students. I look forward to building on those accomplishments through our Multi-Year Strategic Plan, with its continued focus on student success and achievement.
