GOALS

The Adult Education Program assists adult learners in developing communication skills necessary to become fully integrated members of Canadian society. The objective of the program is to develop language and literacy skills, to promote computer skills and to cultivate an appreciation of Canadian society and culture. The Continuing Education Department co-sponsors Adult Education programs with a large number of community agencies in Metropolitan Toronto ensuring access of all ethnic groups to our classes. Many language instruction classes are offered in school locations, thus providing an important link between parents and the school their children may attend. Being a part of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, one of the largest school boards in Ontario and Canada, the Continuing Education Department has maintained a global perspective in addressing the needs of newcomers. It strives to facilitate the adjustment and the integration process of newcomers through classroom activities and counseling provided in co-operation with community based agencies.

NURSERY PROGRAMS

Nursery and childminding programs are offered to pre-school children at some of the LINC and provincially funded locations. Qualified nursery staff provide an enriching pre-school program to children who are 2.5 to 5 years of age.  Some locations accommodate toddlers from 18 months to 2.5 years of age.  The nursery facilities are for the child of a parent or legal guardian attending classes in the same building.
For detailed information on program dates, times and locations please refer to the program directory.
