The
Literacy programs provide support to adult learners in the areas of reading, writing and basic mathematics.
The types of programs are:
- ESL Literacy - Classes are provided for
English as a Second Language learners
who lack literacy skills in their first language.

- English Literacy: Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) - This program is offered to learners whose first language is English
(CLB 5+), but who need help with reading, writing or basic mathematics up to a grade eight level of competency.

The model of program delivery is a low teacher to student ratio. In this setting, the instructional approach is learner-centered and individualized. Learning occurs within
an integrated and thematic language curriculum. Resources are drawn from a variety of
published, authentic, instructor-made and learner-generated materials.
