Welcome to the Romero Raiders website and online Hall of Fame.
November 2010 - After a tumultuous season which saw more than its share of ups and downs, Coach Silva and the Senior Boys Volleyball team captured the TDCAA Senior Boys 'B' division volleyball championship in with a 3-0 sweep over Etienne Brule. The season began with promise, but after some bad luck and some bad attitudes were pushed aside, the team, under the steady direction of coaches Silva, Lopes and D'Angelo set upon a course for TDCAA gold. They began to build momentum, and ,by the end of the season, were poised to make a playoff run. After dismantling St. Pat's only Brule stood in their way. The boys did a fantastic job of stifling their attack with Frank Kumi leading the way. The return of Richard Nguyen was welcome indeed, as the setter's solid play and dance moves both composed and fired up the squad. Captain Larry Patino's smart and determined play all over the court was central to the team's success in the championship match. David Correia, DeShawn Montaque and the hard serving Jesse Furtado were flawless on this day making play after play to cement the victory. The stellar work of Nelson Severino, Ivan Gaitan Ruiz and Daneil Neckles must be noted as well. Congratulations to all on a well deserved championship.
October 2010 - The Romero soccer legacy is living on south of border in the outstanding play of Al James (Cleveland State University) and Cazz Warren (Adrian College). Cazz received honours again making All-Conference Second Team in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. As well, Cazz led his team in shots on goal and was second in points. Well done, boys.
June 2010 - Another athletic banquet is in the books. Congrats to all players and coaches on another successful year. Teacher and former Romero student, Miss Macioca-Sette was honoured with a long overdue Hall of Fame induction. The Romero Senior Boys Soccer team was named team of the year and has just returned from OFSAA with a bronze medal to show for their efforts. Check out the Senior Boys Soccer Team link. October 2009 - The Raiders Athletic community is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of graduate and two-time athlete of the year Cazz Warren. Cazz is attending Adrian College in Michigan on a Soccer scholarship where he has set the team ablaze leading in all offensive categories. He was recently named a second team all star for the conference. Read all about it here.
