The
tradition of Blessed Trinity Catholic
School
began in 1963. The first phase was build on the north end of the
property. Three years later a permanent structure was added,
including a gymnasium. In September 2001, we welcomed students
from the St. Leonard School Community as a result of the school
closure.
Over the years,
the school has enjoyed a strong association with the community
and the Catholic School Council. Extensive contributions have
been made by parents to help fund programs and activities that
benefit students directly as well as sponsor information nights
for parents. The School Council has helped fund the school playground,
update the library as well as support many school activities and
fund the purchase of many resources.
Some of the
Blessed Trinity traditions are a strong emphasis on following
gospel values, daily prayer and monthly masses; strong parental
nvolvement and commitment; community celebrations such as the
Family Dance, Winter Carnival, Spring Tea, Family Barbecue and
Environment Club.
A variety
of sports are available to the students such as the swim team,
volleyball, softball, basketball, soccer, floor hockey, cross-country
and track and field. In order to encourage leadership and peacemaking,
we have initiated various programs such Peace Mediation, Safety
Patrollers, Crime Stoppers, VIP (Values, Influences and Peers)
and Be Free.
The tradition
of academic excellence, artistic and musical development along
with the development of Christian students who live their lives
based on Gospel values continues to be an on going objective of
Blessed Trinity.
