Q. How do you use your online registration site?

Q. I don't know my Ontario Education Number (OEN)?

If you are 21 years or older, you do not need to enter this number. However, you will be asked if you have a valid transcript when you officially register. To avoid any registration issues, please obtain a transcript.

You can obtain this number from your TRANSCRIPT. The number is located on the upper portion of the transcript and it is also located on the upper portion of your report card and course credit counselling summary. You may also contact your day school for this number.

Q. Is there a problem with Hotmail/Yahoo/Gmail/Hanmail addresses?

We are aware with specific issues using these free email services. The issues often occur with students who have email addresses with multicharacters such as yy84idjg@hotmail.com will be rejected by our email server since it may mark your email address as spam, therefore blocking messages to your address. PLEASE NOTE: Email addresses that have sexual, profantity or suggestive content will also be rejected from our email server.

Students using HANMAIL.NET are asked to use another email service. There is a problem with the chinese character strings that are added to each email that is sent.

Q: The course is listed as AVAILABLE on your website. Why didn't I received an ACCEPTANCE EMAIL?

A: Our site will list the course as AVAILABLE as long as it is not FULL. The night/saturday/summer school principal will contact all the students on the wait list. If a student from the wait list has dropped or not attending the class, then the principal will continue to choose students in sequence until it reaches yours. This depends on how many spaces are available and how many students are on the wait list.

Q. I am an adult, so I don't belong to a school board, what do I put into the Day School Board box?

If you are an adult, select "Other" for Day School Board box and under Day School Name select "Adult (21 and over)"

Q. Can I request more than one course?

Yes you can. Our online request website (Online Course Request) allows you to request for more than one course for that one school. You would need to print out separate registration form for each course. This may require you to register more than once through our course request site. www.tcdsb.org/continuinged/waitlist.htm

Q. Can I request the same course at different schools to increase my chances of getting accepted?

This action may not necessary increase your chances of getting in. You would need to register more than once through our online request system. You would also need to print out separate registration forms for each location and course you have chosen.  www.tcdsb.org/continuinged/waitlist.htm

Q. Can I earn more than one credit per semester?

For Night school: Yes you can earn more than one credit by enrolling at different school locations. The registration website can accept more than one course request. In order to request more courses, you have to fill out and place another registration request through our website. TCDSB students can simply ask their guidance department. If you attending day school it is not recommended that you attempt more than 2 night school courses or eClass courses.

For Summer School:  No you cannot earn more than one credit simply because the all courses run at the same time. Those students who attempt to register for more than one course at more than one location will only be accepted in to one location where that requested course is available. We will take the first request submitted on our server.

PLEASE NOTE: If a student registers for eClass Online Courses and is accepted, this will automatically remove all other attempts to register at another site due to the fact that we technically accommodate a large* number of students for summer school eClass. 

EXCEPTIONS: Students are allowed to take  both Career Studies GLC2O and Civics CHV2O at the same time. A separate registration form is required for each course. These courses are also available through eClass Online Courses.

*eClass accepts as many students as our servers can handle. Some restrictions may apply.

Q. I cannot print the registration form OR I need to make changes to my online request. What do I do?

Your email ticket contains links in order for you to access your registration request. In order to print the registration form at a later time, simply follow the link that is listed under "Modify your request information please click on the following link". This will open your information which you will have to click the next button and then click on the save and submit button in order for you get to the "Print" page. Please note that this action will cause another ticket email to be sent to your email address.

Q. I am a NON-TCDSB Student... When will I be contacted about my placement into the course?

You will be contacted by email after the day that has been designated on the registration website. You will only be contacted if you have been accepted into the course. You can be contacted from that date up to the second class. Please make sure your contact information is accurate.

Students enrolling in online eClass courses will receive a more immediate response due to the nature of that program.

Q. What is a prerequisite?

This is a course that is required to take the next level. Your transcript contains all the courses you have taken. For example you would like to take Grade 12 English University (ENG4U). The prerequisite for this course is Grade 11 English University (ENG3U).

Q. What is a waiting list?

This is a list that is prioritized by the date and time a student register for a course.

Q. I registered online and I did not receive a registration ticket?

The ticket is immediately emailed to your email address as soon as you save & print your form. Please make sure you typed your email address properly when filling out the form. Also check your Junk Email mailbox to ensure the email was not sent there. Please also note the above question about using free email services such as Hotmail/Yahoo etc. If all else fails, please email us regarding this and we can check for you. Q. I am not Catholic, can I still enroll into the program?

Everyone is welcomed to enroll into our program providing they have the necessary course requirements regardless of faith.

Q. If I miss the registration deadline, can I still register?

You must visit the Summer/Night/Saturday School location to register for the course on the FIRST DAY of classes and no later than TWO DAYS after Summer/Night/Saturday School classes have commenced. Enrollment into a course at this point will be subject to availability and space. Please refer to the Credit Courses section on the current semester. If you are a TCDSB student you must register via your guidance department. NON-TCDSB students must use the online course request site. Saturday school students must visit the school on Saturday to see if there are any space available.

Q. Can I pre-register for a course by calling the Toronto Catholic District School Board?

No, all students are to register/request courses online between the designated dates.

Q. Where can I get a registration form?

TCDSB students can get a registration form from their day school's guidance department.

NON-TCDSB students and Adults print their registration form once they have completed the online course request process. Saturday school schools and print it the form from the website.

Q. Do you offer Online Courses? Do you offer Correspondence Courses?

Online Courses are available. This is called eClass courses. Visit our main page www.tcdsb.org/continuinged and click on eClass Online Courses to view current On-line courses for a specific time period. Online courses run concurrently with Night school and Summer School semester, thus eClass is only available during the duration of these programs.
