Q. When does Summer School Begin? Refer to our website for times and school addresses. Click on Dates and Times for this informationhttp://www.tcdsb.org/continuinged/summerschool/index.htm Q. I only receive confirmation for one of my choices, can I switch? The email you received is the only place we have for you. If you wish to switch, you must delete your first confirmation and re-apply for the course again. Please note that you will lose your place in the sequence. Q. I have not received an acceptance email that I am in the course, does this mean I am NOT accepted? The school principal sent emails based on how many spots are available. Acceptance emails will be sent out starting on June 13 and can be received up to July 6th. You will receive an acceptance email once there is a spot for you in the course. You may check with the summer school location to find out how many spaces are available, however this information will not be available until the first day of class. Q: What are the odds of getting in the course I want? A: This is a difficult question to answer as it is dependent on how many of our current TCDSB students are taking the course and how popular the course is. Typically Math, English and Science courses are quite popular, in particular Grade 12 courses. eClass courses typically accept all students since they can accept a large number of applications. Q: The course is listed as AVAILABLE on your website. Why didn't I received an ACCEPTANCE EMAIL? A: Our site will list the course as AVAILABLE as long as it is not FULL. The night/saturday/summer school principal will contact all the students on the wait list. If a student from the wait list has dropped or not attending the class, then the principal will continue to choose students in sequence until it reaches your request number. This depends on how many spaces are available and how many students are on the wait list. Q. I have more questions about NON-TCDSB registration process? I am an adult returning to school and have not been attending any school for years, what do I need to return to school to obtain my diploma/credit? We issue report cards based on the credit courses which was obtained in our programs and must be taken to your day school or previous secondary school Guidance Department. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Continuing Education Program marks are recorded correctly on your transcript. For a Diploma, you must contact your previous secondary school for information and procedures as "we" (the Continuing Education Dept.) do not issue diplomas at all. It is your responsibility to obtain the necessary information on your transcript to find out what courses you are missing. We do not provide all the courses that a day school location would and only provide courses that are listed on our course calendar. We do not have any of your history/records/transcripts with the exception that you have taken a Night School/Saturday International Language/Summer School with us within the past 5 years. We do have record of you taking one of our courses, but not your entire academic record. To obtain this information you can contact your previous secondary school or contact the Achieves/Records or Admissions Department for assistance @ 416-222-8282.
