| Welcome, The teaching and learning program of the Information
Resource Centre of Dante Alighieri Academy is founded on the concept
of Information Literacy. "Information Literacy is the ability to
successfully complete a complex-problem solving process that requires
students to define the need for information, determine a search process,
locate the required resources, access and understand the information
they find, communicate the information and evaluate the conclusions
in view of the original problem" (Ontario School Library Association,
Information Studies, 1999). It is the promotion of literacy skills,
that are outlined in the document Information Studies: Kindergarten
to Grade 12 (Ontario School Library Association, 1999) that lies at
the center of the program. |
