Education Centre is closed on Fridays beginning July 11th and ending August

TCDSB Students Succeed in Most Recent Literacy Test--Eighty-one per cent of first-time eligible Toronto Catholic
District School Board students were successful on the 2008 Ontario Secondary
School Literacy Test.--Details

Kateri
Vrakking, Grade 7 teacher at St. Matthew Catholic School,
has earned a spot on Canada's Olympic
Team
and will be competing this summer in Beijing, China.
Kateri secured her position as
Canada's sole female Archer when she recently competed in the World Cup
event in Boe, France. She will also be one of the athletes representing
Canada in the opening ceremonies.

Vice-Principal recognized by Math Association--Congratulations to Anthony Azzopardi, vice-principal of the North
York campus of Msgr. Fraser College. He was recognized with the OMCA
2008 Innovation and Excellence Award for contributions to mathematics
education in Ontario. The Ontario Mathematics Coordinators Association (OMCA)
is a provincial organization representing math coordinators, resource
teachers and consultants.

St. Bonaventure
Catholic School--the second prize winner in the 2007-2008 Canadian
National Poetry Contest for young poets aged 7-12. The school was
selected from among 500 across the country and received a cash prize of
$100 prize and a certificate. The submissions are published in the
anthology of verse entitled "Puppy Dogs and Roses".

one of two winners of the $10,000 School Proposal Contest by Certified
Management Accuntants of Ontario School Proposal Contest for their
proposal to create a photo lab at the school.

Rebels have won their second straight TDCAA senior boys rugby title.

Tennis Champ--Sergiu Laza from
Marshall McLuhan emerged victorious at the OFSAA Tennis Festival held at
the Rexall Centre June 2nd and 3rd.

Soccer Silver--The boys' soccer team
from St. Basil-the-Great finished in second place at the quad-A
provincial championships held in Windsor on June 11th.

City Track and Field Winners--St.
John's Catholic School finished in the top spot with 101 points in this
year's elementary city meet. James Culnan (71 points) and Our Lady of
