* FAMILY BARBEQUE NIGHT - Thanks
to all the volunteers that helped with grilling, stuffing, serving,
shopping, selling tickets, raffling, DJing, face painting, faming,

* Grade 8 Ottawa Trip. The students enjoyed the
sites and sounds of our capital city. There was no time to get homesick
as the group was always on the move. Many thanks to Mrs. Robinson
and Mr. Centofanti for organizing this fabulous adventure.
* Brain Tumor Foundation: A total
of $ 57.26 was raised. Thank you for the people who donated. This
money will hep towards the research education and support for those
who are suffering from a brain tumor.
* 2008-2009 Budget Process: A budget consulation
meeting will be held of Monday, May 5, 2008 - 7:00 pm
at the Catholic Education Centre, 80 Sheppard

* On April 22nd, our school community was
involved in the "Jump for Heart" and "Hoops
for Heart" campaigns for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
It was a success, both as a fundraiser and a school event. The children
participating raised just over $ 4,000.00 for the foundation. Thank
you to our Student Council for running the events under the direction
of Mrs. Jensen and Mr. Centofanti.
* Please note that Holy Cross accepts gently used ADC (Appropriate
Dress Code) clothes. These clothes will be distributed to children
in need. You could drop off the ADC clothes at the office anytime
during the school year. Thank you.

* STUDENT AWARDS Congratulations to the students

* SAFE SCHOOL ACTION
TEAM The meet will begin shortly in order to begin
the work with the surveys and plans that need to be implemented
by within the near future. Mr. Cianfarani will be emailing the committee
to inform them of the date and time.
* Sacrament Preparation: Notices
will be sent home to all children in Grade 2 receiving the Sacrament
of Reconciliation and First Communion. Parents will be invited to
a meeting at the church outlining the requirements and procedures.
Grade 8 students will also be bringing home notices for the upcoming
parent meetings, enrolment mass and the date for the confirmation
mass and ceremony.

the total so she can order the correct number of pizzas. Students
are not allowed to buy slices on pizza day. If orders are not received

* Board Games: We accept donations
of slightly used board games in order to provide the students with
activities during rainy days or inclement weather at recess times.

will take place the week of February 7/08. Parents can begin calling

Lost and Found Articles: All articles not claimed
will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in June.
* Message to Parents/Guardians
regarding Lockdown Procedures.
* Special Programs: Students who are struggling
with academics are able to take advantage of special programs in
the school.
* It is very important for parents to drop off children
by 9:00 am so as not to interfere with your child's program.
* Please do not use the staff parking lot for dropping-off
or picking up your child. It should be done in the school yard.
* Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately
for the cold weather with hats, gloves, scarves, boots and please
bring indoor shoes and an extra pair of socks.
* Please ensure that your child(ren) are also appropriately
dressed following the Appropriate
Dress Code. We will be more vigilant in the coming
New Year and will be contacting parents in regards to the dress
code.
* All school visitors are to use the front school
entrance off Memorial Park and report into the office.
