ECO SCHOOL
Our school hae begun the process towards becoming an Eco-friendly
school. During the next several months we will be having a series
of meetings to discuss what changes we can make to our present practices
to help reduce the amount of energy we use and garbage we produce.
Mrs. Doumouras has graciously accepted to head up the committee
that will be working on this very valuable and necessary process.
It will mean that we will have to make some sacrifices in terms
of how we package our lunches and snacks along with the plastic
water bottle. It will take the combined effort of all if we are
to succeed. Think of these as healthy changes that will help our
future generations.
THINK GREEN!!

BUS SAFETY PRESENTATION
On January 14, 2008 every student in the school participated in
the bus safety presentation run by Stock Bus company. Each class
was given a short presentation in the class. They then headed out
to the school bus where the rules were reviewed for all to hear.
A reminder to all students that travel to and from home by school
bus, the bus rules are there for your protection. Students must
remain in their seats while the bus is in motion.

FR. FRUCTUOSO GARCIA
ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, Toronto
Presentation schedules
Grades 1 to 4 - 9:30 am
Grades 4 to 8 - 11:30 am
Parents are welcome to attend.
One of the fundamental beliefs of Catholics is the helping
of the marginalized people. We are always looking for different
ways for our children/students to connect and realize the different
degrees of need that exists throughout the world. I recently met
with Fr. Fructuoso Garcia of St. John the Baptist Church in Toronto.
Father Farcia has visited many schools to raise funds for missions
in Ecuador, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Peru.
Fr. Garcia's presentation focuses on becoming the
best we can be, healthy living for the body and soul and developing
metal skills. He has become a walking telephone directory, filing
1,000 phone numbers in his head with the ability to recite the rapidity
upon request. His presentation last approximately 35 minutes and
is quite interesting.
Father simply asks that students and adults watching the presentation
make a $ 1.00 donation on the day of the presentation.
Thank you for your continued support and assistance as we prepare
for the most holiest of seasons.
