Tears down your face
By NC

I feel so bad for what was done.
I thought it would be best.
Turned out to be a sorry mistake.
As I recall the tears running down your face. Even though you are crying, like sunshine
After the rain,
There should be laughter after pain.

Violence in Video Games
By KF

"Grand Theft auto, San Andreas" I will be quite disappointed if anyone in our school is lacking common sense and bought it. Well I know someone who did buy it and I saw him play it, considering what I had heard about it my common sense told me it wasn't going to be nice, and it wasn't. This M rated game features racism, wanton killing and theft among other things. In the five minutes I watched it I picked up that no student in our school should own this game. I hope this column has discouraged anyone from buying this game. If you own it all I can say is TSK,TSK,TSK.

Consideration
By JD

Consideration is the first block in the tower of humanity. Without this block, there would be a large hole or perhaps, the tower would not stand at all. Consideration includes your hellos and goodbyes. It keeps our world running smoothly and peacefully. It is only when consideration is not found, does war, anger, and havoc arise. When one demonstrates such monstrosity it can only lead to trouble. You cannot kill a man without receiving guilt, you cannot skip a project without failing, you cannot turn your back on consideration without meeting an inevitable ending. Punishment, whether this be guilt, loss, or even writing a one page essay on Consideration there is no escape. Consideration is the first block in the tower of humanity. Without this block there would be a large hole or perhaps, the tower would not stand at all.

School Highlights
By Shareese, Grade Seven

Two years ago James Culnan Catholic School introduced uniforms. Our whole school including grades seven and eight are wearing our color-coded uniforms. It’s nice to see everyone looking smart by supporting our color-coded uniforms. The best thing about our uniforms are the way they look. We’re not going to wear mini plaid skirts, ties, matching tops, and boots! What do you think we are? High schoolers? All we have to wear is navy blue and white. Navy blue bottoms that is and white tops. Think that the school uniforms are too expensive? So then what are you waiting for! Go on a shopping spree! Go to Dufferin Mall, go to a Lasenza Girl, go anywhere. Pick up navy blue pants, pleated skirts, skirts shorts and skorts. Then pick up some white tops. Long sleeved shirts and T-shirts. Last of all, if you’d like, there’s boots. Now when it comes to shoes always go to Payless Shoe Source. But, if they have boots or shoes make sure they are black shoes, navy blue shoes with maybe a little bit of white. Now you’re all set. See how much better you look? Some stubborn students are still not wearing their uniforms. Now the committee is coming out with pizza lunches to get us to wear our uniforms. It is a good thing that we get a pizza day every month. The only thing I don’t like about pizza day is that the pizza or pop is not for free. Some more good things about our school are our agendas. We also have new computers for the library because a couple of years ago a lot of crazy students were ruining our other computers by taking the balls out of the mouses, pressing buttons on the keyboards and the screen, and also by shutting computers the wrong way. That is why we now have a lab with over twenty new speedy computers. And when students are on them they will be under a teacher’s supervision. We have also switched our mixed classes into proper classes so now if you come to our school you won’t find a grade four/five class, but you’ll be very likely to find a separate grade four and a separate grade five. We also have special presentations and plays every couple of weeks. And the best thing is that it is always under four dollars. We even have cool events like sports. An example of a sport is cross-country. We have cool events like the dance-a-thon. A very fun thing is going to happen sometime soon. A very large group of CSAC has been working on improving the physical appearance of the school grounds with trees and other things. And with all our pizza sales from last year we were able to buy bibles, new benches, nets, equipment carts, balls for sports, sound systems, fans, pizza for sports teams and freezies for all students.
