Hello All: This is Even Week 30. There are 31 day of school left to hand in work or write tests! The crunch will be upon us soon!
What a lovely Easter weekend. I hope that all of you took the opportunity to spend some time outdoors and enjoy the early days of spring. I hope that whatever you did over Easter, that you were able to share in the Easter celebrations with family and friends. Our French exchange students seem to be doing well. They are off for another week and will return on the weekend. Keep them in your prayers that they experience a memorable trip and return safely to us.
Tuesday is the Unit 13 target date. Please remind your advisees of the 31 remaining days and of the target date. The time for action is now! Super TA interviews will be starting next week. LSSAC committee will meet on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Office Conference room. If staff has any concerns they wish to raise, please speak to your LSSAC committee members before the meeting.
We have a number of trips/team games happening on Tuesday. The Grade 12 Biology students are off to University of Toronto. The Junior Boys VB team and the Senior Boys Rugby team both play games tomorrow at Ward. One is in the gym; the other is on the field. Both teams would love a little staff support to cheer them on! Go Ward Go!
Department Heads are reminded of their meeting on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Library. Another Grade 11 Religion retreat will be taking place on Wednesday. The Senior Boys will be playing at Libermann. The Girls Soccer Team will be playing at Vanier, and the Table Tennis Team will be holding the Mary Ward Invitational meet at Ward later afternoon. Good luck to all.
On Thursday, some of the Tech students will be going to Harbourfront for a trip. Some members of the French department will be attending a French Play at Theatre Georges Ignatieff in the morning. The Science department will be participating in a Biology PLN with Epiphany of Our Lord. The Girls Rugby team will be playing at Allen against McLuhan. The Junior Boys VB team will be playing at Ward vs. JPII. Senior Boys Rugby will play at Brebeuf vs. Mother Teresa. Any students interested in running for SAC next year are asked to attend an information meeting. Students should check the morning announcements. Lastly, the Test Centre staff has a meeting with Admin at 3 p.m. in the Office Conference room.
This Friday is a Faculty Meeting morning. Students will have a late start. As per a suggestion at the last PA day, we will start the Year End Review process. Please submit any agenda items to Andrea ASAP. I will start to create an agenda for Friday morning. The meeting will take place in our SBAT groupings to facilitate conversation. We have additional Year End times booked and all staff will be invited to participate. This is just the first meeting and will start the review process moving forward. Good luck to Len and Amy and the Aladdin cast and crew as they are in intensive rehearsals leading up to the school play. We wish you all the best!
Finally, huge thanks go out to Mary Louise and Peter for organizing, coordinating, and executing an incredible Holy Week Mass. It was very moving and we are very fortunate to have such expertise in our midst. Father Dave was wonderful as usual. The choir sounded great and they contributed richness to the Mass. Thanks to Peter Hathway and tech crew for helping everything sound and look good. Thank you also to all staff. Our students were exceptionally well behaved and they lived up to your high expectations. In both Masses students were attentive and engaged. How lucky we are to have such great kids and great staff!
Well folks that is it for this week. We wish you a wonderful week. |
