Happy New Year everyone!  Welcome back to 2009 and to Odd Week 17.  For those of you who are counting, 10 weeks to March Break!

We trust that you and your loved ones had a relaxing and peace-filled Christmas holiday.  We hope that this New Year will bring a renewed enthusiasm and excitement in all that you do for our students.

This is a fairly quiet week, Ward-wise.  Monday is our first day back and there is NOTHING on the calendar.  Tuesday is Unit 7 Target Date.  Please remind your advisees.  These 10 weeks are very critical in having your advisees position themselves in a comfortable/successful place for June.  When students try to do all their catching up after March Break, it becomes a case of too little - too late.  These 10 weeks will also be a critical time for your advisees trying to make university target dates.  January 23 is the deadline for all unit 8 work which includes tests still needing to be written.  January 30 is the deadline for all unit 8 work and all tests to be written.

Wednesday is Quad Day and TA will be extended until 9:40 a.m.  Please check your mailboxes for Quad information.  Wednesday, January 9th is the Eastern Orthodox Christmas for some of our teachers and students. Be sure to wish them a Merry Christmas. This Thursday is a Day 1 schedule and Friday will be Day 2.  Be sure to remind your advisees that their teachers will need to see them on scheduled days particularly since Monday, January 19th is the unit checkpoint/conditional zero deadline for unit 8.

That’s it for now.  Have a great week!
