Basketball Free Throw Competition
strengthens bonds between Catholic schools and Knights of Columbus
Blessed John XXIII and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic
Schools were pleased to participate in this year’s Knights of Columbus
Toronto Council 1388 Basketball Free Throw Competition. The event took place
on Wednesday, January 30th in the gymnasium at Our Lady of
Perpetual Help, 1-1/2 Garfield Avenue (south of St. Clair, off Mt. Pleasant
Road). This was a community building event, an initiative of the Knights of
Columbus, in collaboration with the Catholic School Advisory Council at Our
Lady of Perpetual Help, to strengthen relationships between Catholic schools
and this Catholic service organization.
The top contestants, from each age division, as well as the
overall winners, will be eligible to advance to the Knights of Columbus
District Competition later this year.

One student lines up a shot.

Principal Anthony Tacoma and Trustee Paul Crawford shield
themselves from a barrage of basketballs from enthusiastic competitors.

Close, but not quite.

The winners.
