All Hallows Eve (well technically day) at Notre Dame
  Monday, October 31

All sorts of creatures, big and small, came out yesterday for the Halloween Costume Day at ND. The range of costumes went from Flava Flav to Willy Wonka to a chainsaw wielding, multi-faced maniac. The teachers also came out dripping with school spirit as they came as various people including the Spice Girls, The Jackson Five and Raggedy Andy. And, continuing with the tradition of Halloween, the Student Council gave wonderful candy grams to make up for the fact that we are all too old to go trick-or-treating. At the end of the day, a stand-up assembly was called in the gym to decide on this year’s best costume. Each homeroom at the beginning of the day chose 2 representatives who they thought had the best costume and during the assembly they all went up and strutted their stuff. The costumes were judged by how loud the crowd cheered, and in the end it came down to 3 finalists: 2 Neil boys, Jay (Will Smith) from Men in Black and Samara from the Ring. Coming in third were the Neil Boys, Robin Berretti and Anna-Maria Ruggiero; second was Samara, Mila Komar; and Jay (Will Smith), Chevone Griffith came away with first place and a bucket full of candy. A great way to end October and celebrate Halloween with much thanks to the Student Council for organizing yet another spirit filled event.

Stratford
  Tuesday, October 25

Another event that you will be sure to enjoy here at Notre Dame is our yearly visitations to Stratford Festival. Imagine the Globe Theatre audience overrun by enthusiastic stage critics of the young female variety. Come and be part of the exodus. Enjoy plays as Shakespeare never intended. As our buses arrive by the basketful, subject Shakespeare to the opinions of the sophisticated modern female. And just when poor William is about to turn in his grave, know that, at Notre Dame, great comedy and tragedy is still very much in fashion. This trip is definitely the way to enjoy the culture of theatre.

  Spirit Week
  October 17 – 21

When I say ND you say SPIRIT! ND! SPIRIT! ND!! SPIRIT!! That was definitely the attitude of the entire school this past Spirit Week organized by the Student Council. An entire week of not only fun filled activities but also non-uniform days! Students came out wearing their best Spirit all, each grade competing for the top prize by trying to raise as many Spirit Points as they can. Spirit Point can be won by participating in the various activities throughout the week. The winners were the Grade 12s, Congratulations!!! Thanks a bundle to the Student Council who organized an unforgettable week!
