Dear Parents:

This handbook has been developed in order to provide information and to establish expectations. Students will be able to achieve success if they know what is required of them, why certain rules are necessary, and what the consequences will be for inappropriate behaviour.

It is divided into two sections. The first provides information for parents about Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic School. It can serve as a handy reference for any questions you may have about daily routines. The second, which is addressed to the students, includes the School Behaviour Code. Hopefully, it will serve as a useful reference for what is expected of all students at Our Lady of Wisdom.

Parents and school staff are partners in education. Co-operation and communication between school and home can only result in a positive learning environment at school for all students.

Please try to contact your child’s teacher first with any concerns you may have about your child’s academic program. If you have other questions, please contact me in the office. Please be reminded that problems are best solved when a frank and open discussion is held with all parties. Also misunderstandings can often be cleared up quickly by a simple phone call.

Please discuss the contents of this handbook with your child(ren). Your input and suggestions for further handbooks would be appreciated.

 Dear Students:

Please take the time to make yourself aware of the contents of the student handbook.

We are a Catholic School and try very hard to follow Christ’s teachings. Above all, we try to treat each other with respect and consideration. Any actions which hurt others are not acceptable. These include fighting, rudeness, damaging property, littering.

If we all work together to achieve our best at all times, we will be able to have a happy and successful year.

Sincerely,

Mr. J. E. Stépanian, Principal, and Staff
