HOW DO I GET THE OPHEA CURRICULUM DOCUMENTS?

The following procedure has been established to facilitate the acquisition of hard copies of the OPHEA curriculum documents.  Simply email Carlos Pereira in the printing department with the grade level(s) of the curriculum document(s) requested.  Let him know if you would like a binder or not. He will charge the following back to your school  bloc;

 $25.00 per document without binder

$30.00 per document including binder

 While all schools were provided with one complete set a few years back, it is our recommendation that every classroom teacher have their own binder. These documents are available, one for each grade, and are the complete health & physical education curriculum for kindergarten - grade 8.  Teachers may also wish to access these documents using the program services CD that was distributed to every teacher in TCDSB in 2001. This CD contains a complete set of OPHEA documents in electronic form.

WHAT IS THE BOARD'S POLICY ON HELMETS FOR SKATING?

TCDSB policy on helmets for skating is that the school must first follow the rules laid down by the arena. Arenas in Toronto require that all skaters 6 and under must wear CSA approved hockey helmets. TCDSB strongly recommends that all students wear CSA approved hockey helmets. This fact should be brought to the attention of the parents. However TCDSB does not require students to wear helmets.
