Acceptable Use Policy:
ONLINE RULES AND ETIQUETTE
A Message
from the Director of Education
The convergence of computer and communication
technologies is challenging educators as never before. There is a need for students of all
ages to acquire a new and different set of skills that will permit them to access and
create knowledge using the communication tools and information available to them via the
Internet.
In order to create and maintain an effective and
safe electronic learning environment for our students we are implementing an Acceptable
Use Policy (A.29) that sets out rules and etiquette for using the Internet.
To make it work we need the help and cooperation of
parents, students and teachers. As our educational partners, please read the contents of
this brochure carefully. Our teachers are providing classroom instruction for our students
and we are taking the unusual step of asking you to sign a student access agreement on
their behalf to indicate that you are aware of our efforts and that we have your support.
Thank you,
Bruce Rodrigues
Director of Education
