AUTOMOBILE EXPENSES H.M.02 

Policy

1. Employees who are not covered by a collective agreement and who are required to make use of their automobile for board business shall be reimbursed.

2. The rate for variable automobile fuel and capital costs shall be reviewed annually so as to reflect the proportionate change in the elements of the above costs.  

Regulations:

1. Employees not within a collective agreement who are required to have an automobile as a condition of employment shall be paid:

a) reimbursement of capital automobile cost to be adjusted annually effective the 1 January in accordance with the consumer index of the preceding year;

b) reimbursement for variable costs of automobile fuel to be adjusted annually effective the 1 January to reflect the changes in the cost of automobile fuel.

2. All others who use their automobile on approved board business shall be reimbursed at the current rate paid by the Province of Ontario to its employees and reviewed annually on the 1 January.
