This program serves students under the age of 16 who have
demonstrated an inability to cope in the regular program at their home
school. The referral to SALEP must be completed by the school social worker.
The program allows the students to work part-time or full-time while
attending school two and a half days per week in order to also earn credits.
Students can stay in the SALEP program until they turn 16, at which time
they can choose to return to school or enter the work force.

This program offers students in need of intensive
intervention, a temporary differentiated setting. The classrooms are always
connected to an outside agency or institution such as adolescent and family
centres, hospitals etc. Consideration of where students reside can affect
placement.
