History & Tradition

The tradition of Blessed Trinity Catholic School began in 1963. The initial section was constructed on the north end of the property. It was rather small and measured to where the middle doors are now located. Within a year, however, the population grew and several portables were added. Three years later a permanent structure was added including a gymnasium, as well as specialized rooms for industrial arts.

Over the years, the school has enjoyed a strong association with the community. Extensive contributions have been made by parents to help fund programs and activities that have been of a direct benefit to students in the classroom.

The school crest is enclosed in a triangle signifying the Trinity with a cross at the top as a symbol of our faith, a book to show pursuit of knowledge and the initials BTS at the bottom.

In 1988, the school celebrated its 25th anniversary. We are proud to say that some of our present parents are former students. The tradition of excellence continues.

How We Meet the Diverse Needs of Our Students

Family Literacy Night with Bob Barton

Blessed Trinity's Family Literacy Night was a special treat for our staff and families.  Together we spent an entertaining evening with Bob Barton, a founding member of the Storytellers School of Toronto and professional storyteller.  Mr. Barton captured our imaginations with tales from around the world.  Storytelling was followed by workshops where our families participated in a variety of activities designed to encourage family reading time.

January and February were busy months for students and staff at Blessed Trinity with many amazing accomplishments!

In January, Blessed Trinity students offered their support for the many people in need after the tragic Haiti earthquake, by donating $800 to the Sharelife foundation for Haitian relief.

During February, Blessed Trinity hosted a Family Literacy Night event which incorporated a Scholastic book fair. In attendance was author Bob Barton, who treated the audience with a few entertaining story retells. Attendees were invited to take part in the many literacy themed games following the retells. The book fair was a HUGE success! All the purchases made at the book fair earned the school $1456.66 worth of books from Scholastic. These books will be put into the school library and the classrooms.

On Shrove Tuesday, CSAC hosted a pancake lunch for the students. Students enjoyed a delicious pancake meal accompanied by fruit juice, fresh fruit and cookies a sweet way to proceed Lent!
