History & Tradition

Holy Redeemer Catholic School is a title applied to Christ who liberated all by sacrificing His Precious Blood on the cross. The hope for a Redeemer was emphasized throughout the Old Testament. The universality of the Messianic Kingdom is a divine gift enabling everyone in the world to be reconciled to God. The suffering and death of Jesus brought about the redemption of the entire human race.

Holy Redeemer Catholic School opened in 1973, with the official opening and blessing of the school held on April 27, 1974.

The Mission of Holy Redeemer Catholic School is to motivate all students to achieve their full potential in mind, body and spirit through excellence in education within a safe, progressive and enlightened environment.

JUMP ‘N’ JIVE with J.P.
The entire community at Holy Redeemer Catholic School “Jumped ‘N’ Jived with J.P.” on June 10th in honour of fellow student, J.P. Chua, who placed sixth in the 2011 Eastern Canadian Gymnastics Championship held in Halifax recently.

John-Philip (“J.P.”) Chua, a Grade 8 student at the school, competed in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Provincial Championship in Burlington on April 17th, winning gold on high bar, silver on parallel bars and third overall. This earned him a berth on Team Ontario to compete in the Canadian Championships.  Team Ontario placed second overall in the Canadian Championships.

The entire school watched video clips of his performances at both competitions, followed by a Q & A with J.P.  He also demonstrate some gymnastic routines as well as taught his schoolmates a move or two!

To highlight the spirit of this event, students dressed in club uniforms, sports attire such as team jerseys and other athletic gear.
