History & Tradition

St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School opened in 1967. The school celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1992. To commemorate this event a playscape was built for our primary children. In 1996, a new wing was added to the original building to accommodate the school's growing population.

Our patron saint is St. Isaac Jogues, a Jesuit priest from France who worked with the Huron natives in the Midland area of Ontario, 350 years ago. His life came to an end as a martyr for his faith.

Our students are encouraged to learn form the indomitable courage of St. Isaac Jogues and follow his example by becoming committed followers of Jesus Christ. His feast day, October 19th, is celebrated each year at our school. Class trips to the Martyr's Shrine in Midland allow our students to learn more about our patron saint  and the early history of Canada.

Our school is part of Annunciation Parish and our parish priests help our students develop their faith through monthly liturgies, sacramental preparation and classroom visits.
