Virtue of the Month: May 2008--"Compassion"

Principal of the Year
Congratulations to Margaret Gardonio, Principal of James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic Secondary School. She has been recognized by the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario as a Principal of the Year.

Geography Challenge Ontario 2008 Championships
The Royal Canadian Geographic Society and The Canadian Council for Geographic Education  would like to thank the Toronto Catholic District School Board for hosting the Fourteenth annual Great Canadian Geography Challenge at Don Bosco High School on April 12, 2008.

The top fifty students who entered the school Geography Challenge came to Toronto from all over Ontario (Ottawa, London, Sudbury) to be part of The Great Canadian Challenge.

David Marrello from Bishop Allen Academy placed fourth and will compete online  with forty students from across Canada in the National Finals on Thursday May 15, 2008 at 12:00 noon Eastern Standard Time. You can view the results by logging onto www.geochallenge.org . If successful he will become part of the Canadian Team which will participate in World Geography Championships in the summer of 2009 with twenty other countries. We wish him well.
