Group Project: Computers in Society
You will be required to work on a project in
groups of three that deals with the world of computers outside of the classroom
and outside of programming.
The
project will be presented to the class the week of June 12 and will not exceed
30 minutes in length.
1) You are required to:
a) Have a Powerpoint
presentation of your main points in a creative informative fashion.
b) An summary
of main points will be put handed out to
the students. These topics will be included in the examination in June.
c) Your
presentation must be well researched and presented in an effective manner. An introduction, an informative
presentation and a concise conclusion are expected.
d) Have
an outline of what you intend to present by this Friday explaining your
introduction and main points and your presentation plan.
THE
BOTTOM LINE...
This
is a chance for many people to ***SHINE*** and bring up their computer mark.
The project will be worth 15 % of your second
term mark.
20% for
your presentation.(Research, Content, Interest, Creativity)
05% Self evaluation: Anecdotal paragraph
Penalties:
Wasting time during work sessions. Disrespect during presentations.
Many topics are so new and relevant in our
society that information can only be found in newspapers, magazines, tv
programs or interviews. Be creative in
your approach, there are not many books out on the latest technology.
5 Points…….When using a
PowerPoint Presentation:
1. Don’t read from the screen!
2. 5 points on a page with 5 words on each point!
3. Large proper coloured fonts so we can read it!
4. Face the audience
5. Speak loud and clearly with Authority
