Saint Patrick at the Journalism Conference

On November 18th, seven dedicated students from St. Patrick rose on a chilly Saturday morning to join Ms Slosel at the Toronto Catholic Student Journalism Conference & Workshop at Brebeuf College School. Co-sponsored by the Catholic Register, the day was packed with information on effective writing, layout, photography, interviewing and research skills, journalism ethics, the role of the editor and starting a school newspaper. Presented by professional journalists, the 100 students in attendance had the unique opportunity to ask questions about the field and explore its potential as a career choice. St. Patrick's future journalists are: Alice Namu, Jodelle de Jesus, Eda Sofroni, Peter Carducci, Dorothy Sulit, Andrea Lake and Joan Piloya.
