CROSS COUNTRY

Under the bright sunshine of a beautiful autumn day, St Pat's Xcountry team participated in the TCDSB Championship race Last Friday. The team was feeling so good from practicing Sept and Oct, they wanted to run to Boyd Park just to warm up!

In the midget category, the team was made up of 4 runners: Robert McCarthy, John Boyko, Michael Green and Steven Choi. After 5 grueling km, over hills through forests, splashing across streams, St Pats came in a very respectable 16 h place out of 30 teams and over 300 runners!

In the Junior girls category, Orysya Onatsko, represented St Pats girls and placed a respectable 56th out of 230 girls! A marvelous race indeed!

Finally, in the Senior boys competition, Christian Molnar, Glen DeMel, Peter Pham Dragos Minea, Chris Bober, and David Sanisklo teamed up for St Patrick's best showing ever in a Cross Country race of 7200 meter race. That is 7.2 km! Imagine running from the school to the skydome and back! All the runners finished the race and were extremely happy with their places.

It has been a great season of fun and excitement. And the team would like to thank Mr Bar and Ms Bey for their coaching and driving.

And also a big thanks to Rob McCarthy's dad who drove a vanload of runners last Friday and stayed to watch the races.

So until next year…

Remember our motto, if you don't run, you'll come in last!
