8. Trustee Matters:

a) From Trustee Del Grande regarding Request for a liquor permit for the Toronto East Goan Seniors Association on Saturday June 25, 2005 at Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary Sc

That the Board waive the policy regarding the serving of alcohol on school property to permit the East Goan Senior’s Association to obtain a liquor permit at Jean Vanier Catholic on June 25, 2005.

b) From Trustee Carroll regarding reconsideration of Tender for New Portable Classrooms.

That the following motion regarding Tender for New Portable Classrooms be reconsidered:

1. That a unit-price contract for the supply and on-site setup of New Portable Classrooms be awarded to the low bidder meeting Board Specifications being NRB Inc. in the amount of $57,833.85 including net GST of $1,164.64

2. That the estimated cost of $1,020,000 to purchase and install 14 new portable classroom units as part of an overall system-wide plan of primary class size reduction be charged to 2005/06 Education Funds for this purpose.

That the Interim Director of Education be authorized to execute the City Contribution Agreements for the Child Care Facility at Canadian Martyrs and St. Patrick Catholic Schools.

b) Report regarding Joint Site Development Opportunity Blessed Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School. p.15-p.21

1. That the Toronto Catholic District School Board approve in principle the concept for the redevelopment of the track and field at Blessed Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School.

2. That the Director of Education be authorized to negotiate the terms of a Joint Site Development Agreement with the City of Toronto for the installation of a new generation track on Blessed Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School site.

c) Report regarding Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Request for Boundaries. p.22-p.28

1. That the current attendance boundary be continued for Blessed Sacrament Catholic School consisting of the following boundaries:

North: Brooke Avenue/Old York Mills/York Mills Road

South: Lytton Blvd./Blythwood Road

East: Bayview Avenue

West: Avenue Road

2. That the approved attendance boundary for Blessed Sacrament Catholic School be subject to the following conditions:

Parents of new registrants must have primary residence with the approved attendance boundary subject to the following exceptions:

i) All students currently enrolled at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School be allowed to complete their schooling at that school.

ii) Siblings of students, currently enrolled at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School be permitted to enrol at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School even if they reside outside the approved attendance boundary.

iii) Pupils registered in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Middle French Immersion Program are not governed by the boundary requirement.

d) Report regarding Non-Resident Visa Student Fees for September 2005. p.29-p.30

1. That the board approve the following fees for Non-Resident VISA students for September 2005 which remain unchanged from 2004:

2. Should the Toronto Board or surrounding boards increase/decrease their fees for the 2005/2006 School year, then TCDSB staff will re-evaluate and recommend a new tuition fee.

e) Report regarding Electricity Acquisition May 1st 2005 to March 31, 2006. p.31-p.34

1. That the TCDSB participate with the Catholic School Boards Services Association in the purchase of electricity effective May 1, 2005-04-11

2. That the Director of Education be authorized to sign an “Agency Agreement” with Aegent Energy Advisors to contract on behalf of TCDSB.

f) Report regarding St. Basil the Great College Special Education Alterations. p.35-p.36

1. That the Board award a contract for Handicap Accessible Room (ME/DD) at St. Basil in the amount of $169,000 plus net GST of $3,786 for a total of $172,786 to Kara Consultants Inc.

2. That the budget for the St. Basil-the-Great College – Special Education Alterations include $45,000 for specialized furniture and equipment.
