Board & Committee Meetings

When are they held?

Public sessions of all Board Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Catholic Education Centre

The regular meeting of the Board is generally held on Thursday evenings.

Agendas are posted online approximately 72 hours prior to the meeting at http://www.tcdsb.org/trustees/Agendas/agendas.html

Are there any standing committees?

The Board has two standing committees:

  • Governance Framework Committee
    (Jo-Ann Davis, Chair; John Del Grande, Vice-Chair)
  • Student Achievement in Catholic Education Committee
    (Peter Jakovcic, Chair; Frank D'Amico, Vice-Chair)

Trustees are also elected to serve on statutory committees:
 

Audit Committee, Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC), Special Education Advisory Committee

(SEAC) and Supervised Alternative Learning (SAL).

How can I register to speak?

Delegations are allowed to address the Board in accordance with policy T.14 Delegations. Please be advised of the limitations of the policy.

Anyone wishing to address the full Board of Trustees, must register by completing a registration form that is available online at http://www.tcdsb.org/policyregister/DELEGATIONS%20FORM.pdf and faxing the form to the Recording Secretary at 416-229-5353 or by email lalita.fernandes@tcdsb.org.

 

Delegations who register prior to 11 a.m. two business days prior to the meeting, are invited to speak for up to 5 minutes during the first part of each session. Delegations are heard in the order of their registration, and they are invited to leave copies of their written submissions with the secretary at the committee meetings. These will be circulated to all trustees. Please note that all board meetings are videotaped and webcast live.

 

When is a meeting not held in public?

A meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter involves:

  • The security of the property of the Board
  • The disclosure of personal information in respect of a member of the Board, employee, a student, his/her parent/guardian
  • The acquisition or disposal of a school site
  • Decisions in respect of negotiations with employees of the Board
  • Litigation affecting the Board.

Private sessions generally are held prior to the start of the Public Board meeting.
