Each year, the Ontario Ministry of Education determines and allocates a series of Education Programs - Other (EPO) grants to each school board. Superintendents and program coordinators are responsible for specific areas that address student needs and administer the funding for each project. Various reporting deadlines to the Ministry undergo a verification approval process which includes a detailed calculation check and compliance with Ministry guidelines with our internal financial application system.

Ministry Reporting 

The Grants department is also responsible for preparing Ministry financial statements and enrolment reporting documents pertaining to the General Legislative Grants and Tax Levies to establish and maintain funding resources, accounting structure, and budgets. Financial reporting to the Ministry is reported three times per school year, and pupil accounting is reported twice per year. Periodic analysis and occasional consultative services is required to other departments to ensure compliance to funding regulations as data discrepancies arise. The Grants department maintains and updates the Revenue Ledger and interim financial reports and assists with the reconciliation of the General Ledger to ensure Ministry reporting compliance. Daily staff and student enrolment numbers are forwarded to this department and are reflected in budget estimates and yearend financial reporting.
