In a school community formed by Catholic beliefs and traditions, our mission is to educate students to their full potential by providing them with opportunities to participate in leadership as a shared responsibility.
1.                  The Toronto Catholic District School Board, as in past practice, believes that the student council exists to assist with the promotion of the Catholic Faith and Gospel Values amongst the student body, to represent the interests of all students as they pertain to school related social events and activities, to serve as a consultation body regarding school policies that impact on students and to promote school spirit.
2.                  The Student Council, as an advisory body, may make recommendations to the principal related to the interests of all students.
3.                  Members on the Student Council must be in good academic standing and working towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Certificate of Education at the time he/she becomes a candidate.  Members must maintain that good academic standing throughout his/her term in office.
4.                  The Student Council will establish its goals, priorities and procedures consistent with the Mission and Vision of the Board and the Graduate expectations, subject to Board policy and appropriate legislation.
5.                  The Student Council will have a staff representative who attends each Student Council Meeting and serves as advisor to the Council.
6.                  The agenda for the Student Council meetings will be prepared in consultation with the staff advisor.
7.                  The term of office for a Student Council member will be one year, renewable by election or appointment.
8.                  All Student Council activities, including fundraising activities in the school, must be in accordance with Board policy and must have the approval of the principal.
9.                  The school Principal or designate should provide the student council with the opportunity to communicate with all students on a regular basis.
10.              The Principal or designate should meet with the student council at least four times during the school year.
11.              The student council will keep minutes of all student council meetings and records of all financial transactions and will submit, on an annual basis, a written report on its activities, including fundraising, to the principal.
12.              The student council will follow the Board’s policy on establishing and maintaining financial records.
13.              That the composition of the Student Council contain at least a President, Secretary, Senior Representative and a Junior Representative.
