Toronto Catholic District School Board

Translatable Budget Survey

Please note that this document is for reference only. The survey is only available online. However, if you wish to provide feedback, you can send your comments and suggestions to budget@tcdsb.org.

The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) remains committed to supporting our staff and students during these unusual times. While we understand that nothing remains business as usual due to COVID-19 at this time, we are still obligated to move ahead with our 2020-2021 budget preparations. The Ministry of Education requires all school boards to submit a balanced budget by June 30, 2020. As such, we invite all stakeholders to participate in our budget consultation for the 2020-21 fiscal year.  We are asking that you take the opportunity to provide us with your input.  Our hope is that you will identify the areas that are a priority to you and your child’s school.

For each of the following statements by survey category, please identify to what extent you agree or disagree.  If you wish to identify areas that require additional investment or improvement, please complete the open comment sections.

The TCDSB will consider the feedback received and make decisions with this feedback in mind.  All information collected remains anonymous.

If you are completing this survey on behalf of a Catholic School Parent Council (CSPC). Please identify your school. Identify CSPC if applicable.

2. Toronto Catholic District School Board is required under the Education Act to have a balanced budget.  Currently, the anticipated Grants for Student Needs for 2020-21 are expected to maintain an overall status quo position with minor adjustments. The minor adjustments are the result of inflationary cost adjustments and any costs associated with collective agreements reached by the Provincial Bargaining Table between the Ministry of Education, Bargaining Trustees’ Associations and Employees’ Union Groups.

The TCDSB remains committed to delivering the best education service delivery model within the funding parameters. Your participation in this budget consultation helps inform the Board of Trustees on the manner in which the existing funds can best serve student achievement and well-being.
