The Toronto Catholic District School Board is committed to education as a shared responsibility among Parents, Students, Church, Staff, the Board, and community partners.

TCDSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)

The Ontario Ministry of Education, in its December 2005 Parent Involvement Advisory Policy, mandated the creation of Parent Involvement Committees in each school board
The Toronto Catholic District School Board is committed to ensuring that all parents and members of our culturally diverse communities have opportunities to participate in the school system and shall provide the support necessary to achieve that goal.
PIC membership includes one (1) parent representative and one (1) parent alternate elected by their peers from each of the 12 TCDSB Trustee wards. The committee will be chaired by parents. PIC includes trustee members as appointed by the Board and board staff designated as a resource to the committee. Ward representatives will serve a one or two year term.

Who qualifies to become a member of PIC?

All parents/guardians with at
least one child or more currently registered in one of our TCDSB Catholic schools.    An employee of the TCDSB is not eligible to be elected to this council.

What do I do in order to be considered?

Simply complete the nomination
form included in this communication and bring it with you to the scheduled
Ward Meeting to present to the Superintendent of Education facilitating the election process.

The Toronto Catholic Parent Involvement Committee is a Ministry of Education funded and parent-led advisory committee working within the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Its purpose is to support, encourage and enhance meaningful parent involvement to improve student academic achievement and well-being. Toronto CPIC communicates and supports Toronto Catholic School Advisory Councils of the TCDSB and focuses on matters that affect more than one school.

All Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Large Committee Room 2nd floor at the Catholic Education Centre, 80 Sheppard Ave East, Toronto ON M2N 6E8 unless otherwise listed.
