Preparing for Administrative Leadership
Interested in becoming a TCDSB Administrative Leader?
- Consider reflection and prayer about your calling and vocation to servant leadership as a Catholic school administrator
- Seek out leadership opportunities within your school, family of schools, superintendency (see TCDSB Roles and Responsibilities table below)
- Demonstrate leadership skills that support the goals of your school community (refer to BLIP, SLIP, Professional Learning Plan)
- Inform your principal and superintendent that you are interested in pursuing an administrative leadership role
- Familiarize yourself with the qualifications necessary for administrative leadership within the TCDSB (see Qualifications page)
- Prepare with academic courses – Additional Qualifications Courses, Master of Education, Principal Qualifications Program (See Online Resources page for links to providers)
- Attend Transition Series, Foundations Series sessions (see Transition Series and Foundations Series pages)
- Familiarize yourself with the Catholic Leadership Framework Personal Leadership Resources and seek feedback on your strengths and goals for improvement
