TCDSB Qualifications for Vice-Principals and Principals

Qualifications for Vice-Principal Position with the TCDSB

Education​

  • Religious Education Part I (completed by the closing date of the posting);
  • Completion of the Foundation Series-Discerning Catholic Leadership Program
  • Principal’s Qualifications Part I and Part 2
  • Enrolment and completion of at least one course in a Master’s Degree Program

Teaching Experience:

  • Evidence of 7 years of qualified teaching experience.  This experience may include up to two years in long-term occasional positions, and at least one year of experience in the panel for which you are applying.
  • Demonstrated experience nurturing the Catholic faith community, personally and organizationally, in support of student achievement.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in areas of instruction, curriculum and assessment within a school.
  • Demonstrated experience fostering and or creating a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and building effective relationships with stakeholders.
 

Qualifications for Principal with the TCDSB

Education:

  • Religious Education Part II
  • Principal’s Qualifications Part I and 2
  • Master’s Degree

Administrative Experience:

  • 2 years of experience as a vice principal within the elementary or secondary panel or 2 years of as a vice principal with at least 1 year of experience in the panel within which you are interested in applying
  • Demonstrated experience nurturing the Catholic faith community, personally and organizationally, in support of student achievement and well-being.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in setting direction for instruction, curriculum and assessment.
