Mentorship is one of the key elements of the New Teacher Induction Program.  Each NTIP LTO 1 and Y1 teacher is asked to select a mentor (a permanent TCDSB teacher with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience).

The Mentoring for All, v3 document was produced by the Ontario Ministry of Education in September 2017.  Topics include:  Creating a Mentoring Web, Building Relational Trust, Facilitating Learning-Focused Conversations, Providing Meaningful Feedback, Utilizing Powerful Mentoring Designs.

New mentors are offered a one-day Mentoring Matters workshop which addresses the following topics:

  • spirituality of mentoring
  • NTIP 2018-2019
  • coaching strategies & tools

Details about the 2018-19 NTIP program for mentors will be posted in late September.
