Sister Mary Hamilton Award for Exceptional Students
The Sister Mary Hamilton Award for Exceptional Students may be made annually to exceptional elementary and secondary students of the Toronto Catholic District School Board in recognition of significant personal achievements or exceptional contributions to the lives of others.
1. A principal amount of $10,295.69 will be maintained in the current accounts of the Board.
2. The award will be in the form of a bursary or bursaries consisting of the interest earned on the account and a framed certificate inscribed with the name of the recipient(s) in recognition of receiving the award.
3. In November, all schools shall be advised of the award and requested to submit candidates for the award together with details of the candidates' achievements or contributions.
4. Selection of the recipient(s) will take place in May. The number of awards and the amount of each bursary will be determined by a selection panel.
5. A selection panel will be established comprising the Superintendent of Education Special Services, Chief Social Worker, Chief Speech and Language Pathologist and Consultant Psychiatrist of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, or their designates.
6. Should no one qualify for an award, the interest accrued in that year will form part of the principal.
