Do you know high school students interested in international affairs and NATO? They should take advantage of a great opportunity: The Aliante Competition. An international competition for high school students, Aliante is organized by the Association for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation, which aims to increase knowledge and awareness of NATO and international affairs among young people.

The competition involves answering a series of questions online and potentially getting the chance to travel to Slovakia for the international finale, all expenses paid. The winners will also travel to Germany where they will have the unique opportunity to visit military bases, meet military and political leaders and form lifelong international friendships.

This competition is open to permanent residents and citizens in Canada and Europe between the ages of 15 and 19 who are still in high school. The deadline for registration is April 6th, 2014. This is a very unique opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge of international affairs and have fun while doing so. Detailed information can be found at the competition website

As an official partner of the competition, the NATO Council of Canada is happy to assist and answer any questions Canadian high school students have about the program. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the application process. Kind Regards,
