TCDSB Grade 9 Student Census

Date: June 1, 2021

We are excited to launch the TCDSB Grade 9 Student Census we Belong, we Believe, we Become this year.

This census is an opportunity for all students in Grade 9 to share their voices. This is part of TCDSB's ongoing efforts to improve our schools and create welcoming and inclusive environments for our students to succeed.

The Census is…
  • Short: should take less than 20 minutes to complete
  • Voluntary: students can choose not to participate in the census, or only answer some of the questions.
  • Confidential: all responses will be confidential, and no individual student will be identified in this process.
  • Important: a chance for students to tell us more about themselves so we can improve our schools for you and your peers.

All TCDSB Grade 9 students will be invited to participate in the Student Census on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 during class time.

The census will include questions based on the Ontario Human Rights Code, including: Indigenous identity, race, ethnic origin, religion, first language, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, status in Canada and socioeconomic status. Some questions are required by the Anti-Racism Data Standards, under the Anti-Racism Act (2017). The census also includes questions on the student learning environment.

The results of the 2021 TCDSB Grade 9 Student Census are intended to inform Board practices that can lead to better outcomes for students.

We want to hear the voices of all our Grade 9 students.

Submit your Student Census on June 1st!
