  1. Collaborating on program goals - Both parties intend to increase students’ global perspective on human rights issues through the history of WWII in Asia; empower students to take action against social injustices; support educators in teaching the history of WWII in Asia.
  2. Development of relevant curriculum resources to support the learning of WWII in Asia -ALPHA staff and TCDSB educators will develop educational resources for relevant courses in the Canadian and World Studies curriculum and Social Science and Humanities curriculum.
  3. Implementing educational programs for students & educators -Both parties will collaborate to provide curriculum-enhancing programs such as: student conferences, workshops, leadership camps, and professional development for educators.
“This partnership not only supports student achievement and inclusive education, but also reflects our commitment to our Catholic Graduate Expectations, which call us to help our students to become responsible citizens who give witness to Catholic social teaching by promoting peace, justice and the sacredness of human life,” says Director of Education Angela Gauthier.
“The MOU reaffirms the shared educational values and direction between TCDSB and ALPHA Education. The partnership also exemplifies the Canadian multicultural policy in education. Through a critical understanding of the Asia-Pacific War, students are given the opportunity to learn about social justice, humanity, and peace from a global perspective,” says Flora Chong, Executive Director and Vice Chair of ALPHA Education.
