Child Care Update
On April 6, 2021, Toronto Public Health (TPH) issued a Section 22 order under the Health Protection and Promotion Act that moved all Toronto schools to online and/or remote learning effective April 7, 2021.
As part of this order, licensed child care programs will not be permitted to offer care to school-aged children, with the exception of emergency child care for those who qualify.
- Licensed child care programs will be permitted to continue to offer care to children who do not attend school, i.e. Infant, Toddler and Preschool programs in TCDSB schools. Please contact operators directly.
- Licensed child care programs for school aged children are not permitted to offer care. These include before and after school programs and any planned non-instructional April Break programs and/or camps. These programs will resume once students return to in-person learning.
Below are the TCDSB schools where Emergency Child Care (ECC) will be offered for school aged children for the period of April 12th to 18th and subsequent extension periods if required. The service would be provided at no cost to eligible families. Please contact operators directly.
