Co-operative Education, School Work and Career

Secondary school students can earn course credits in co-operative education programs, which combine school instruction with meaningful work experience. A growing number of students are taking advantage of the opportunity to explore careers and learn good work habits.
An increasing number of schools are also offering structured school-work transition programs to meet the needs of students who are work-bound immediately upon leaving secondary school. These programs offer industry-recognized traning and/or certification in many areas.
Career access provides special training and follow-up for students who may not be doing well in an academic setting and need help in finding rewarding and challenging work. Many of these students have special needs, but they flourish in appropriate job settings.
