​​The Toronto Catholic District School Board Indigenous Education and Arts Departments proudly present 


  • To create a poster that is inspired by the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Seven Grandfather Teachings, demonstrating their mutual connections and unique understandings 
  • To recognize and celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Indigenous Peoples to Canada; an occasion to acknowledge and enjoy the narratives and wisdom of First Nation, Métis and Inuit Peoples and their Communities. 

Eligibility and Prizes 

  • This poster competition is open to all Elementary and Secondary students within the Toronto Catholic District School Board 
  • Students can submit individual entries or group entries 
  • The winning student(s) school will receive a $100 book gift certificate from Good Minds and the winning student(s) will receive $100 gift certificate from Indigo 
  • Prizes will be distributed by division; namely Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior 
  • The winning submission will have the Artist(s) picture featured on the website of the Toronto Catholic District School Board alongside their contribution 
  • The winning entry will become the TCDSB’s poster brand until further notice 

Poster Contest Guidelines 

  •  All artwork must be original. Any art medium can be used 
  • The reproduced artwork will be printed in various sizes; please ensure that the image will maintain its quality regardless of size 
  • All entries must leave appropriate space for the logo of TCDSB, FNMI and Arts Departments 
  • All entries must incorporate the themes of the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Seven Grandfather Teachings 
  • All entries must be submitted electronically in PDF or JPEG format via email to the FNMI and Arts Departments 
  • All entries must include Student's name, School name, email, contact number and an Artist/statement of their art piece
  • All entries will be evaluated based on the guideline criteria, visual aesthetics, and creativity

All entries must be received by 5pm on April 30th, 2018 

The results will be announced on May 9th, 2018
