Mini Pow Wows

On November 22nd and November 24th, First Nations culture was celebrated with two Mini Pow Wows at St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School and St. Joseph's College School. Some neighbouring elementary schools were in attendance.

Thanks to Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre for their partnership in bringing and sharing First Nations culture with our TCDSB community. What was most inspiring was that one of our own students had the courage and bravery to share her culture with her peers by participating in a jingle dance.

Check out some event highlights via this Snapd Beaches gallery.

Toronto Council shared First Nations culture through a Mini Pow Wow at St. Joseph's College. There were male and female dancers, as well as children, dressed in their regalia. There was also the fabulous beat of the huge drum, which the male drummers played and sang while sitting around it.
