May 5 is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S) in Canada.

Today, the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) honours and remembers all missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people. May 5th is also known as Red Dress Day, as we wear red to draw attention to missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two spirit people and as a call for all Canadians to remember and to take action.
